Ever been on a bad date? It's OK.

Updated: Jul 25, 2018

Have you ever been on a bad date? It's OK. It happens. Why do we stop talking to people afterward?

On that date, did you ever feel after the first introduction, or after the first hour, that it wasn't going to go anywhere?

On a bad date, you're both nice to each other, out of respect. You count the minutes until it's time to go home & you even pay the bill. "I had a nice time" you say.

You part ways & probably never communicate again. But here is where we separate the good from the rotten.

1 person may move on with their life, positively, not saying an ill word of the experience or the other person, whereas person 2 does the opposite. We seem to think that we HAVE to blame someone for our 'failures' as a mechanism to reassure ourselves that we are OK. This is destructive. It also affects 3rd parties.

At the end of the day, we all have people who like us & who dislike us. That's life. Head up.

Point? If you're in a relationship you shouldn't be in, leave. But before you leave, evaluate what type of person you are. Can I move on without being bitter? Do I know what to do next? Do I appreciate this isn't anyone's fault? Do I realise we live in a very small world?

Everybody has feelings. Let's respect them.
